The tax free service allows people from all over the world to recover part of the VAT on their purchases at the end of their trip. In Switzerland, any passenger can obtain a partial refund of the VAT charged on his or her purchases. The minimum spend is CHF 300.

Global Exchange is the intermediary between buyers and the following tax free companies:

• Global Blue
• Planet Payment
• Solpay
• Détaxe S.A. 

No, there is no limit to the number of tickets for tax free collection. Be sure to ask for proof of purchase for every transaction you make.

You must pay full price (i.e. including VAT) on any purchase within the country. Each shop will give you a tax-free form giving details of the purchase and the amount spent. They should also provide you with an invoice or receipt.
The tax free form is the official document that will allow you to recover part of the VAT paid when you leave Switzerland. You must then fill in all the information requested:

• Name and surname
• Full address of residence
• E-mail address/telephone number
• Your signature

When you leave the country, you will need to present this tax free form, your invoices or tickets and your passport at the Global Exchange currency exchange offices. We are currently located in the departures area of the airport (after security), next to the information office in the main hall.  There you can get your refund in cash.

The process is the same, but each customs office must stamp the tax free forms. To do this in Switzerland, you can go to the French sector of Geneva Airport (gate F). For Swiss residents, the refund will be made at the Global Exchange bureau de change in the arrivals area.
